π Tender Overview
Innovative Bio-Based Building Materials With Thermal Energy Storage Function
Environmentally Friendly Building Materials With Thermal Energy Storage Propertiesthe Buildings And Construction Industry Account For 37 % Of Global Emissions, Making It The Largest Emitter Of Greenhouse Gases. Consequently, There Is An Urgent Need To Develop New Environmentally Friendly Materials. In This Context, The Eu-Funded Biobuild Project Will Create Novel Building Materials That Are Entirely Bio-Based And Can Replace Products With A High Environmental Footprint. The Innovation Involves Integrating Bio-Based Phase Change Materials (Biopcms) Into Solid Wood And Wood Fibres, Which Are Then Bound Together Using Plant Oil Resins, Lignin, Or Fungal Mycelia To Form Composite Materials With Significantly Enhanced Thermal Properties. These Materials Are Multifunctional, Sustainable, And Recyclable At The End Of Their Lifecycle.
