Description:
The developer duo appointed Dutch firm Royal HaskoningDHV as lead consultant and UK’s Mott MacDonald as a partner consultant, enlisting them to produce a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR). Royal HaskoningDHV and Mott MacDonald will work on the proposed Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park project, one of three 1-GW offshore wind developments that the DP Energy-Iberdrola joint venture (JV) is promoting off the coast of the Emerald Isle.
The consultancies were given a job to examine the potential impact of the Inis Ealga project on the marine and land life throughout the entire life-cycle of the floating wind farm, and the effects it might have on the community’s commercial activities and cultural heritage. The Inis Ealga project is still in its early development stage. DP Energy and Iberdrola expect the wind farm to be operational by 2030.
