Scope :
Icona is a 337MW hydro power project. It is planned on Juntas Corani river/basin in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
It will be developed in a single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2029 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2032.
Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Empresa Electrica Corani.
The gross head of the project will be 159m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 2 in number. The penstock diameter will be 3m. The project is expected to generate 1,595 GWh of electricity.
The hydro power project consists of 2 units of francis turbines.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2029. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2032.
