Scope: To Set up 240 MW Hydropower Project at Heo in Shi-Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Hydropower project is in the pipeline in Shi-Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh. This project to be set up in place would be executed by the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), a government of India enterprise.
CM Pema Khandu have challenges in terms of difficult terrains and topography. They need to convert these challenges into resources and hydropower is one way of doing it. The hydropower project will be set up at Heo with capacity of 186 MW.
The project would be executed by NEEPCO, replacing private agencies engaged earlier.
Heo is a 240MW hydro power project. It is planned on Yarjep (Shi) river/basin in Arunachal Pradesh, India. The project is currently at the announced stage. It will be developed in a single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2029.
The project is being developed by Velcan Renewable Energy India and is currently owned by North Eastern Electric Power with a stake of 100%.
Heo is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 210m and 201.83m respectively. The project is expected to generate 1,000 GWh of electricity.
The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 80MW nameplate capacity.
