πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

Scope of Work:
To Build Hydrogen hub to fuel industry and mobility in Holstebro, Denmark.

Description:
Holstebro is the municipality with the second highest onshore wind and solar power in Denmark and has a significant PtX potential. The plans are for a two-phase development. The first phase, expected to be commissioned in 2023, will see the hub-partners study production of e-methane and the use of hydrogen in industrial gas burners to produce e-methane at local biogas facilities. They will also start testing hydrogen use in the existing natural gas pipelines.

The second phase envisages the construction of a 100-MW electrolyser, a hydrogen terminal, a distribution centre and a hydrogen refuelling station for heavy-duty and passenger vehicles. The location for the electrolyser has been secured and the development is seen to start in 2025. Excess heating from the hydrogen production is set to go to local district heating operator MEC (Maabjerg Energy Center). Dairy company Arla is a potential green hydrogen off-taker to replace natural gas in its processes. The second phase is subject to the construction of renewable energy plants close to the PtX facility and a stable power supply.
