Scope Trafikverket the Swedish Transport Administration plan to build a new approximately 70 km long double-track railway for high speed trains and fast regional trains between Hssleholm and Lund. Hssleholm-Lund is one of the links in a new high speed railway network between Stockholm and GothenburgMalm. Running through the heart of Swedens southernmost province of Skne its the key to connecting the south of Sweden to Stockholm. Hssleholm-Lund is a 70 km long double-track high speed railway with a top speed of 320 km per hour. When the new main line is completed youll be able to travel between Stockholm and Malm in a significantly shorter amount of time than todays 4 hours and 25 minutes. With the new network comes an increase in accessibility meaning both people and businesses will be brought closer together.The new double-track trunk line will enable services to operate at speeds of 320kmh for long-distance trains and 250kmh for high-speed regional trains and will employ ballastless slab track along its route.
