Scope of Work:
Construction of 300 homes for orphans in Oman.
Description:
Al Rahma Association for Motherhood and Childhood and Shoba Group signed a memorandum of understanding to build 300 homes for orphans and needy families, worth RO9.6mn, over the next ten years. The signing ceremony was held under the aegis of Ministry of Social Development. The agreement aims to establish integrated housing complexes for the target group that owns land, or build separate houses for those who will be given land or for those who own an uninhabitable house. The construction area of each house will be 200sqm, with cost of each not exceeding RO35,000. The association sponsors more than 1,600 orphans in various governorates of the sultanate, and about 600 needy families, in addition to 1,700 families being provided humanitarian assistance on a seasonal basis. under the memorandum of understanding, the most needy group registered with the association will be given priority, while the association is working in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to provide land to the needy who do not own any under a government grant.
