Construction of 250-MW Goorambat East Solar Farm in Victoria.
Description:
The sod-turning ceremony took place with local government officials present at the site, located near Goorambat and Benalla. The solar farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 105,000 average homes in Victoria and is slated to be operational by 2026. The project received financial backing from Deutsche Bank in August, enabling construction to begin. Bouygues Construction Australia and Equans Solar & Storage will undertake the engineering, procurement, and construction activities. Additionally, the project will contribute AUD 75,000 yearly to a community benefit fund and create around 250 jobs during its construction phase.
