📋 Tender Overview
Objectives
GAYEL will prepare youth to become activists locally and join a global network of next-generation leaders in seeking social justice to bridge the energy, climate and digital divides. By creating an online learning platform, GAYEL will deliver a sustainable resource for students and teachers globally that will become richer as more cohorts use it. The project will deliver 900 pages of content developed by youth and 30 student-led campaigns to raise awareness or advocate for change.
Activities
GAYEL will create an interactive learning platform to engage students while supporting teachers to provide direction. Youth will: gain, through online learning, deeper understanding of these global issues; acquire communication skills to launch campaigns; and have their work featured on the platform and at international events. GAYEL will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to carry out deep narrative analysis of all content created and all interactions.
Impact
GAYEL will begin by testing literacy and competency levels of students and teachers, creating a baseline against which to measure progress through participation. To pilot the platform, GAYEL will create 28 introductory pages of content on topics listed, as well as a Teacher’s Manual and lesson plans. GAYEL will also produce 18 communications training lessons. Importantly, GAYEL will give youth the opportunity to interact directly with a wide range of experts from energy, media, advocacy, etc.
