PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Initial situation:
Women in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region) are still underrepresented in political and economic life and therefore have only limited opportunities to shape important political and economic decisions. Although several countries in the region have introduced regulations to improve women's participation, their perspectives and needs remain largely ignored in negotiations at the national and regional levels. Furthermore, the ongoing and escalating conflicts in the region are creating additional obstacles for women, undermining the progress already made towards equality.
Objective:
The political and economic participation of women in the MENA region is strengthened.
Approach:
The project primarily aims to strengthen the political and economic participation of women in the MENA region through targeted measures and cooperation. It focuses on the implementation of the following measures:
•The project offers tailored consulting services and development opportunities for those responsible in business and politics, thereby increasing the impact of their work. Tried and tested approaches are adopted permanently.
•The project brings together regional leaders to specifically address challenges that improve women's participation.
The project shares successful and innovative strategies throughout the region.
•It advocates for women's fundamental human rights, ensuring they can influence policies that advance equality and
