Genale Dawa Ethiopia Tender

Scope :
Genale Dawa 5 is a 100MW hydro power project. It is planned on Genale river/basin in Ethiopia. It will be developed in a single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2025 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2028.

Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Ethiopian Electric Power.

The gross head of the project will be 91m. The project is expected to generate 577.7 GWh of electricity.

The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 50MW nameplate capacity.

The project has 2 electric generators that will be installed at the project site.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2025. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2028.
