Scope : To Establish a State-of-the-Art Float Glass Manufacturing Facility in Maharashtra.
Qatar-based Aria Holding and the government of Maharashtra state signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the World Economic Forum 2024 Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Aria Holding will invest over USD 240 million to establish a state-of-the-art float glass manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The strategic investment in Maharashtra is intended to serve local, national and inrenational requirements, and through its portfolio companies, the company will also put in place an export strategy for its products. Aria Holding’s investment will boost the domestic supply of float glass and intertwines with India's development strategy, infrastructure expansion, growth of automotive sector, employment generation, and advancements.
The MoU marks a significant milestone in the state's efforts to promote the local economy and attract new investors to the state, and would create a spectrum of work opportunities, Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Maharashtra state, with its location, workforce, infrastructure, and progressive policies, provides a suitable platform to establish the float glass plant.
Float glass plays a key role across sectors, including construction, automotive, and industries. Aria Holding is a multinational conglomerate which operates across sectors, including engineering, technology, business services, among others.
