Project Description
The provision of an equity bridge loan of up to US$ 38 million to finance the design, construction, equipping, maintenance and handover of an 800-bed multidisciplinary hospital in the Fergana Region of Uzbekistan. The project will be implemented under a 23-year public-private partnership (PPP) agreement signed with the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

Project Objectives
The project will enhance access to high-quality healthcare in the Fergana Region, including for complex procedures such as cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and organ transplants. The project will also support the ongoing development of private sector participation and investment in key infrastructure sectors in Uzbekistan and will constitute the first major social infrastructure PPP in the country. As such, it is expected to have a strong demonstration effect for future projects in the social sector.
