PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Initial situation
The Ukrainian government is striving to make greater use of the high potential for energy efficiency in residential buildings. Heating of residential buildings accounts for up to a third of total energy consumption. This means that Ukraine has one of the highest energy consumptions in Europe in this sector.
Furthermore, energy-saving renovations in Ukraine's heating systems are necessary in order to achieve the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). However, homeowners often lack the financial means and technical knowledge for comprehensive energy-saving renovations. At the same time, CO2 emissions have a negative impact on the environment. This also applies to the Ukrainian city of Lviv.
Objective
A residential area in Lviv demonstrates the technical and economic advantages of increased energy efficiency along the entire heating chain.
The Ukrainian Ministry for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure is better implementing the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
The Lviv City Council can better support thermal renovation processes.
Approach
The project supports the Government of Ukraine, the Lviv City Council, the district heating company "Lvivteploenergo," and homeowners' associations (HOAs).
1) HOAs will receive support for specific measures to reduce thermal energy consumption in selected buildingsβin accordance with the requirements of the "Energodim" program of the National Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF).
2) A
