PROJECT DESCRIPTION (DE)
Initial situation
Digitalization in Asia is changing everyday life and the world of work. India, Bangladesh and Vietnam are striving for comprehensive digital change and therefore need well-trained young professionals with digital skills. This is the only way they can remain competitive.
However, the qualification systems are not adequately adapted to the labor market: practice-oriented teaching and the teaching of employment- and ethics-oriented digital skills are lacking at universities. This means that ethical judgment, data protection and the responsible design of digital systems are neglected. The potential that compact, short-term learning units - so-called microcredentials - have as a flexible learning format also remains unused at universities.
Objective
Study programs that support employment- and ethics-oriented digital skills in young people have been improved qualitatively and quantitatively in selected regions of Asia.
Approach
The project is building up the performance of universities in order to implement better study programs in the long term. The core strategy is to establish a network consisting of universities and research institutions in Bangladesh, Vietnam and India as well as other international partner universities.
The network strengthens the study programs qualitatively and quantitatively by developing microcredentials. To this end, the project trains lecturers and university managers so that the universities can develop and offer the courses independently. In addition, labor market-oriented qualifications are supported through cooperation with the business world. The microcredentials thus promote future-proof digital skills, tailored
