Location Quintana Roo Type of investment GreenfieldSubsector TourismActive Beach 8.60 km Scope The project consists of extracting with self-propelled dredges sand from an environmentally authorized marine bank for subsequent dumping in the coastal area of Playa del Crmen. The objective is to create enough beach widths to preserve the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone ZOFEMAT and protect the existing infrastructure. The project considers a length of 8.6 km as well as the filling of two pits detected during the characterization of the site. A total of 2.5 million m3 of sand will be poured. It is planned to build a support structure of 125 m in length based on concrete cubes whose main function will be to maintain the constructed beach widths stable.
