Programme: Connecting Europe Facility (CEF)
The aim of Marseille - Ventimiglia High Performance project (HPMV) is to roll out ERTMS Level 3 hybrid baseline 3.6.0. on the railway line between Marseille and Ventimiglia located on a section of the TEN-T Mediterranean Corridor without lineside signalling.
The project constitutes the first phase of this HPMV project from Théoule-sur-Mer to Ventimiglia.
The total length of the railway sections covered by the project is 102 km of double track equivalent to be equipped.
The different types of Unit contribution are as follow:
1 Deployment ETCS and Interlocking including:
• the Network sections located west and east of Nice urban node amounting to 62 km of double track equivalent
• the Nice Urban Node amounting to 40 km of double track equivalent
2 Deployment GSM-R including
network section (including Nice urban node) located from Théoule-sur-Mer to Ventimiglia amounts to 102 km of double track equivalent.
The French State, SNCF Réseau and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Council have committed themselves to deployment of ERTMS hybrid Level 3 combined with interlocking replacement, connected to the centralised network control system.
This project is a necessary forerunner to the Provence-Côte d’Azur new line project (LNPCA).
