A new trash skimmer machine has been procured for the purpose under the smart city projectThe official said that prior to this the municipal corporation would manually clean the river and had appointed a private contractor for the same. We would clean the river manually through contractor who was assigned with the task of removing water hyacinth filth and other waste from the river. But the one- year term of the contractor is ending on February 29. We are not going to continue him after the contract endsThe cost of the machine is Rs 2.61 crore including operation and maintenance for a period of 5.5 years.
