Description:
Ayala's ACEN Corp has initiated the approval process for a 100-MW solar project with 80 MW of battery storage in New South Wales, Australia. The company has submitted a scoping report to the state's Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, marking the first step in obtaining permits for the project, which will be considered a State Significant Development. The project, known as the Comma solar park, is planned to be located in Bunyan, Snowy Monaro, and is expected to provide electricity for around 45,000 homes in Australia. The integrated battery storage system will allow for energy to be stored and released during peak demand periods, offering up to four hours of discharge capacity. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027, with the project coming online by the end of 2028.
