The ongoing chuuk water supply and sanitation project is improving the resilience, inclusiveness, and sustainability of water supply and sanitation services on weno island, the administrative and largest urban center of chuuk state with a population of about 14,000 residing in 2,100 households. it will also help reduce the transmission of hygiene-related and waterborne diseases by increasing access to safe water and sanitation services.
The additional financing will expand the project scope to cover (i) priority investments that were omitted from the ongoing project scope as noted in paragraph 4, and (ii) additional investments and further capacity development to enable cpuc to manage the potential impacts of climate change and boost the disaster resilience and operational efficiency of cpucs water supply and sanitation services.
