The project Capacity building programme for Afreximbank and Joint Project Preparation Facility partners in Project Preparation for Export Manufacturing and Infrastructure Development is realized based on the request of and in cooperation with Afreximbank to provide guidance in the development of bankable projects for its Joint Project Preparation Facility ( JPPF ) Partners across Africa. The objective of the project is two-fold and comprises of the main outcomes to enhance and exchange knowledge to build long term capacity and strengthen the institution as well as to institutionalize a sound corporate governance structure and framework for the Investment Project Preparation and Appraisal (IPPA) Service Desk. In this context, the project aims to promote in-house project preparation in order to ensure the bankability of the projects sustainably in the medium term. Through this project, JPPF Partners are expected to strengthen skills and receive knowledge to build long term capacity and strengthen the institutions in the fields of project development and preparation. IPPA Service Desks are expected to support project preparation activities, following the institutionalization of a sound corporate structure and framework. It is also significant to note that the proposed project contributes to the objective of the ‘Joint Declaration’ signed by UNIDO and Afreximbank on 13 December 2018 with the intention to facilitate close co-operation between the two parties for contributing to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID)
