In the BOGO district, Far North Cameroon as everywhere else in the world, natural environments often constitute the habitat of a wide variety of terrestrial or aquatic animal and plant species, hence their important role in maintaining and improving biodiversity. However, these landscapes, as well as the sustainable practices and knowledge that are carried out there, are increasingly threatened by unplanned urbanization, overexploitation of natural resources and erosion, climate change and natural disasters, rapid population growth. All of these pressures lead to the loss of biodiversity, land degradation and reduction of soil fertility, the scarcity and loss of flora and fauna, increasing erosion and widespread poverty. This situation requires emergency measures to be taken to sustainably preserve these natural environments influenced by man. It is in this logicThis project is part of which aims to contribute to the implementation of sustainable use of biodiversity resources in the socio-ecological and marine production landscapes of the Bogo district. In this sense, it intends to achieve four (04) main results, namely: (i) updating the reference situation as well as the COMDEKS landscape strategy document (phase 1) Bogo target landscape; (ii) strengthening the capacities of local organizations to develop community project proposals for future SGP COMDEKS calls for proposals; (iii) capacity building of COMDEKS SGP beneficiary organizations in terms of reporting and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the COMDEKS program; (iv) the production of
visibility/communication/knowledge management tools/supports and capacity building as part of the implementation of COMDEKS phase 4. To do this, the project will intervene in eight (08) cantons of Bogo district (Bagalaf, Balda, Djeddel, Guingley, Mororo, Saoudjo, Sedek and Tchabawol).
