Description
The project includes (i) the construction of 7 express bus lines (BEX), (ii) the acquisition of electric buses, (iii) works to optimize bus traffic, (iv) the construction of the 3rd depot in Floirac; (v) improvements to park and ride facilities; (vi) extension of the cycle path network.
Objectives
The operation aims to improve public transport services, make the bus fleet greener, promote intermodality, and expand the cycling network. These investments should therefore encourage a modal shift from private vehicles to public transport and active modes of travel, and diversify sustainable transport alternatives in order to enhance reliability, make public transport services more accessible and affordable, and benefit the entire population, including the most vulnerable.

Environmental aspects
For all components, the project's compliance with applicable EU Directives relating to the environment, in particular Directive 2011/92/EU as amended by Directive 2014/52/EU, and Directive 92/43/EEC concerning Habitats and Directive 2009/147/EC on Birds, as well as the allocation of Natura 2000 sites, and, where applicable, compliance with Directive 2000/60/EC laying down a framework for Community action in the field of water policy will be analyzed during the investigation of the operation.
Procurement
The Bank will require Bordeaux Métropole to ensure that the contracts for the implementation of this operation are awarded in accordance with applicable EU procurement legislation (Directive 2014/25/EU or Directive 2014/24/EU as appropriate, as well as Directive 92/13/EEC or Directive 89/665/EEC) as interpreted by the Court of Justice of the EU, with publication of the notices of call for tenders in the Official Journal of the EU, if necessary.
