Scope of WorkConstruction of Axen route A4 Tunnels.DescriptionThe Axen route A4 runs along the Lake of Lucerne in the cantons of Schwyz and Uri. The 8.9-kilometre stretch incorporating the Sisikon 4.4 kilometres and Morschach 2.9 kilometres tunnels will cost around a billion Swiss francs. Planned completion 2029. This new route will ensure the future availability functional capacity safety and environmental compatibility of the north-south transit axis for pri-vate motorised transport. The tunnels will ensure that the new Axen route will be better protected against natural hazards.
