Scope : To Set up a Automobile Plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) and the Maharashtra government’s industries department will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the company to set up a Rs 25,000 crore automobile plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s decision to invest in Maharashtra assumes importance. Once again, it has been established that Maharashtra is a favoured destination for investors.
Fadnavis had been pursuing the matter with TKM for the investment in Sambhajinagar, which will help develop the Marathwada region.
The new unit will generate direct employment for 8,000 people, and in addition, 16,000 persons will get employment in ancillary units, so it will create 24,000 jobs in all.
The unit will manufacture nearly 4 lakh vehicles per year and will start production in three years.
