π Tender Overview
Scope : To Construct new Allen County Hospital in United States
Indiana University Health expects to open in 2027 a newly constructed hospital in southwest Allen County β a $421 million investment.
The investment was approved by Indiana University Healthβs board last month. The project is expected to expand access to affordable, high-quality health care in the region..
IU Health took one of its first steps toward the development in 2021 when it filed plans with the Department of Planning Services. County officials in 2022 approved the rezoning of about 137 acres in the 9600 block of Lower Huntington Road near Interstate 69 to shopping center, which allows for a hospital. The area previously included several zonings: agriculture, professional office and personal service, single-family residential, multiple-family residential and shopping center.
The new hospital will feature 140 beds, 17 emergency department exam rooms, six operating rooms, three catheterization labs and three or four endoscopy rooms. It will be attached to a medical office building.
The hospital will employ 500 team members and 60 additional providers.
The health system has heard the communityβs call for more affordable health care.
The hospital is planned to have five stories. The plans filed in 2021 describe the hospital as being 150 feet tall and 750,000 square feet. The more than 100 acres of land was bought for $5.5 million.
The new hospital will be a cornerstone of its commitment to providing accessible, high-quality health care.
