Project Description
EBRD invested EUR 40 million as part of a EUR 350 million green bond issuance by Akropolis Group, UAB ("Akropolis", or the "Company"). The green bond issue was carried out in accordance with the Company's Green Finance Framework (the "Framework"), which aligns with the International Capital Market Association ("ICMA") Green Bond Principles and Green Loan Principles and is supported by a Second Party Opinion ("SPO") confirming full compliance with these principles. The green bond has a maturity of 5 years and is listed on the Euronext Dublin and NASDAQ Vilnius stock exchanges.
Project Objectives
The proceeds from the Bank's investment will support the refinancing of the Company's existing β¬300 million Eurobond and the financing of a portfolio of Eligible Green Projects (as defined in the Framework).
Transition Impact
ETI score:68
transition impact derives from: (i) the "Resilient" quality as the transaction contributes to capital market development by having a longer maturity than the previous longest tenor issuance in the market in the past year; and (ii) the "Green" quality as the attribution to green finance is 100% for this transaction, given that the green bond adheres to the ICMA Green Bond Principles and Green Loan Principles, and is externally verified through an SPO. The proceeds will be used to refinance a portfolio of green assets that hold BREEAM "Very Good" certifications.
