The project contributes to the GEF 7 Global Electric Mobility Programme’s goal of reducing global transportation sector GHG emissions and additional global environmental benefits in the form of reduced air pollution by creating a policy ecosystem for accelerated adoption of RE powered EV fleets and derisking of private and public investment in technologies that facilitate the integration of renewables and charging infrastructure. The project also aligns with the programme’s objective of demonstration and capacity targeted at address the sustainable end-of-life use of batteries. Lessons learned from this project and chance to leverage lessons from abroad through participation in the regional and global programme’s platform, ensuring the child project contribute to the programme’s global impact.
