At 8:49 on August 8, the Fuxing smart EMU train G7364 departed from Yuhuan Station and headed to Shanghai South Station via Hangzhou East Station. This marks the opening of the Wenling to Yuhuan section of the Hangzhou-Taizhou high-speed railway via Shaoxing. This is also the first departure train from Yuhuan Station. Yuhuan has entered the high-speed rail era directly from the railway. The fastest direct high-speed rail from Hangzhou to Yuhuan is 1 hour and 47 minutes. Taizhou City has achieved county-county railway access.
The Hangzhou-Taiwan High-speed Railway is an important part of the intercity railway network in the Yangtze River Delta region and will be put into operation in January 2022. The Wen-Yu section opened this time is an extension of the Hangzhou-Taiwan high-speed railway. It is located in the south of Taizhou City and passes through Wenling and Yuhuan. The new main line is about 37 kilometers long and has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has three stations: Wenling, Wenling West and Yuhuan. Wenling Station is a renovated existing station, and Wenling West Station and Yuhuan Station are newly built stations.
The Wenyu Section of the Hangzhou-Taiwan High-speed Railway will be fully constructed in November 2022. Before the project was put into operation, the railway department carefully organized relevant units to strictly implement various regulations and standards, conduct joint debugging and testing, inspection and acceptance and safety assessment of various professional equipment, and comprehensively optimize and adjust the track status, pantograph performance, train control, communication signal system, etc. At present, all technical indicators of the line meet the design standards, meet the requirements for safe and stable operation, and meet the conditions for opening and operation.
In the initial period of operation of the Wenyu Section of the Hangzhou-Taiwan High-Speed Railway, 16 scheduled EMU trains will operate daily. From Yuhuan Station to Wenling Station, Taizhou Station, Shaoxing North Railway Station, Hangzhou East Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station, the fastest reach is 13 minutes, 26 minutes, 1 hour and 26 minutes, 1 hour and 47 minutes and 3 hours and 03 minutes respectively.
As one of the projects in the Yangtze River Delta Railway to connect, repair and strengthen the chain, the Wenyu Section of the Hangzhou-Taiwan High-speed Railway further expands the high-speed rail transportation circle in Zhejiang Province to the southeast coast of Taizhou. It is of great significance for accelerating the creation of a one-hour high-speed rail transportation circle in Zhejiang Province, improving the structural layout of the regional road network, promoting the integrated development of the cultural and tourism industries along the line, and assisting the high-quality development of Zhejiang and building a common prosperity demonstration zone.
