The Regional Directorate of Agriculture, through the Project Recovery of Water Regulation Ecosystem Services in 119 micro-basins in the provinces of Huamanga, Cangallo, Vilcas Huaman and Sucre, has been promoting the production of 115 thousand radiata pine seedlings in the four provinces of intervention at the regional level.
As part of the monitoring and control activities, the projects technical team has been carrying out inspection visits to the forest nurseries to verify the proper development of the seedlings. On this occasion, the nursery in the province of Cangallo was supervised, where 30 thousand radiata pine seedlings are produced, also confirming the progress of the ringing work that will guarantee its optimal growth.
The seedlings will be available for delivery and subsequent installation in the final field during the months of October and November, benefiting the districts and communities of the province of Cangallo.
With these actions, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture reaffirms its commitment to the conservation of water resources and the recovery of high Andean ecosystems, promoting afforestation as a fundamental tool to improve water infiltration and storage, protect soils and contribute to the sustainable development of beneficiary families in the Ayacucho region.
