📋 Tender Overview
New construction facilities are being commissioned as part of the " Sustainable Development of Rural Areas " project , which is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance with the financial support of the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development.
To date, the opening ceremonies of the first 12 facilities - preschool educational organizations, family clinics, and neighborhood centers - have been held in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, and Bukhara regions.
The project, which is being implemented in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-5246 dated September 18, 2021 "On measures to implement the " Sustainable Development of Rural Areas " project with the participation of the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development ", plans to carry out construction, reconstruction and major repairs at a total of 939 facilities in 20 districts.
Importantly, the social and infrastructure facilities under construction in the regions were selected based on the wishes and needs of local residents, with their direct participation, taking into account the specialization and uniqueness of neighborhoods.
In particular, the 3-story Mahalla consumer service centers to be built within the framework of the project are designed to provide various services to the population. The building will house a beauty salon, a hairdresser, a pharmacy, special rooms for bank representatives, training centers for youth, service rooms for the chairman of the Mahalla citizens' assembly, the assistant khokim, a women's activist, a youth leader, and a prevention inspector. Also, as an opportunity for local entrepreneurs, a sewing room, home appliance and confectionery workshops, and a retail store will operate.
Such centers, in addition to creating versatile convenience for rural residents, are also important in developing entrepreneurship and crafts, increasing employment, and developing the local economy.
Today, more than 100 new construction subprojects are in full swing in remote areas at the initial stage, and construction is expected to begin on the remaining facilities, including major repairs and reconstruction, by the end of the second quarter of this year.
The implementation of the " Sustainable Development of Rural Areas" project aims to comprehensively develop the regions, build road and transport infrastructure, engineering and communication networks, and social facilities, and improve the living standards of the population.
