President Orsi Receives Representatives of the Uruguayan Sports Organization for the Deaf at the Executive Tower 03/28/2025 Share This Friday, March 28th, the President of the Republic, Professor Yamandú Orsi, met with a delegation from the Uruguayan Sports Organization for the Deaf. During the meeting, held on the 11th floor of the Executive Tower, representatives of the organization requested financial assistance or sponsorship from the president to allow them to participate in international competitions and host a national championship.
The following participated in the meeting: the Secretary of the Uruguayan Sports Organization for the Deaf (ODSU), Daniel Perrone; the member, Erico Irrazabal; and the representative of the institution, Rodrigo Couto. The delegation was accompanied by the National Secretary of Sports, Alejandro Pereda, and the Undersecretary, Gabriela Freire, as well as a sign language interpreter.
The intention is for Uruguayan athletes to be able to compete in events such as the Deaf Futsal World Cup in June 2025 in Italy; the South American Youth Indoor Soccer Championship for the Deaf, in Brazil, and the National Indoor Soccer Championship for the Deaf, scheduled for this year.
