In Artigas the Departmental Honorary Advisory Commission for Rural Security received the National Director of Rural Security Chief Commissioner William Gonzalez.The Cryo. Gonzalez spoke about the scope of the Directorate. He stressed the need to coordinate actions with INAC and the Municipality of Artigas to carry out controls on the sale of meat products in order to attack the clandestine circuit. He reported that they are working on the problem of loose animals on public roads and on the control over the care of the native flora and fauna. He mentioned that the main damages in rural areas are cattle rustling the lack of livestock and the damage caused by dogs to production animals. Also that the new body will deal with complaints in rural areas related to domestic violence.He emphasized the importance of producers making all complaints of cattle hunting lack of livestock and all those related to rural security notifying 911 911 and or 0800 4444 in case of noticing strange movements and or the presence of people strangers in the area. On the other hand he considered the need to have various technological means such as thermal sights and drones.For his part the Departmental Director of MGAP Ing. Agr. Gonzalo Jaureche mentioned the new way of working of MGAP especially in SNIG in DICOSE in the Artigas Departmental Headquarters of Livestock Services and CODETRYBA.
