U.S. Senator David Perdue R-GA a member of the Senate Budget Committee comments on President Trumps budget request for fiscal year 2020 which cuts spending by 2.7 trillion over ten years and is projected to balance within 15 yearsThe debt crisis is the single greatest threat to our national security. President Trump understands this which is why his administration is working to cut spending grow the economy and restructure the Pentagons budget to effectively rebuild our military. In his budget proposal the President continues to prioritize critical infrastructure projects that have a high return on investment including full capability funding to keep the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project SHEP on track.Now that weve received the Presidents budget Congress must work quickly to fund the federal government on time so we dont wind up in another last-minute spending battle. If we dont get serious about fixing Washingtons broken funding process and solving this debt crisis our country will lose the ability to do the right thing.
