United States Cut Tender

Cleaning and painting will resume on the Heath M. Robinson Memorial Cut River Bridge in Mackinac County. Work was suspended for the season in late December. The Michigan Department of Transportation MDOT is investing 4.8 million to repaint and repair the bridge. The work also involved structural steel repairs and expansion joint repairs.One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained with temporary signals and flag control as necessary. The roadside park at the bridge is closed and will remain closed until the painting is completed. Pedestrian traffic underneath the bridge will continue to be prohibited for safety reasons.This project will help preserve the overall condition of the structure.
