United States Cooley Tender

The Michigan Department of Transportation MDOT will invest 4.9 million for continued maintenance work on the M-55 Cooley Bridge over the Pine River in Manistee County. Following structural steel repair and partial painting last fall crews will resurface the bridge deck repair the bridge substructure upgrade additional steel components clean and coat the structural steel seal concrete components and upgrade the bridge approaches.This work will require a detour of highway traffic on local roads Seaman Road Hoxyville Road 48 12 Road and M-37.The Manistee County Road Commission is planning a resurfacing project on Snyder Road. When complete the portion of the detour route on Seaman Road will be moved to Snyder Road.This project will help ensure the bridge can continue to carry any and all traffic for years to come.
