π Tender Overview
On July 17, Poltava hosted an interregional forum on topical issues of fisheries reform and aquaculture development, organized by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy together with the State Fisheries Agency, Poltava OVA, Poltava State Agrarian University and the Methodological and Technological Center for Aquaculture.
During the forum, three meaningful panel discussions were held, where specialists and industry experts discussed the introduction of international standards, the formation of added value in aquaculture, marketing, processing of fish products, training of professional personnel, science, fishing and others.
The European integration of legislation has become one of the most important priorities of the fisheries reform, which is currently being implemented in Ukraine. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Holovnia during the event.
According to him, the main idea of ??the entire European integration of the fishing industry is the implementation by Ukraine of the goals of the common fisheries policy, the principles of proper management of the fishing industry, methods of collecting and managing statistical data, etc.
"One of the main priorities is the digitalization of the fishing industry, in particular by launching the eRyba platform. This is a management system for the fisheries industry, which will cover industrial, recreational fishing, aquaculture, various social components and will contain information on production, processing, import-export of fish products, the number of producer organizations, and more. That is, it is the most convenient tool for all market participants β businesses, the public, and state bodies," noted Vitaliy Holovnia.
The Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy emphasized that a number of other important services are planned to be introduced on the eRyba platform, such as the accounting of fisheries water bodies, the monitoring system of fishing vessels, etc.
For his part, T.V.O. The head of the State Fisheries Agency, Ihor Klymenok, informed the audience in detail about the peculiarities of the reform of the fisheries complex, in particular the sphere of aquaculture, and also presented his vision of the interaction of industrial fishing, aquaculture and STRG.
"Having large reservoirs at our disposal, we are planning their large-scale stocking, as provided for in the Fisheries Development Strategy. This will enable our commercial fishermen to increase their fish catch, and also opens up new opportunities for the development of aquaculture. Aquaculture will be able to grow fry with a guaranteed market. This, in turn, will stimulate the cultivation of breeding fish stock, which will then provide high-quality stocking for the needs of business and TRG. However, we understand that we have multipurpose reservoirs that cannot be leased, so we are currently developing an alternative legal mechanism in the form of an investment project. After all, it is impossible to allow these reservoirs to be empty, and the economy of Ukraine cannot afford their inefficient use. Therefore, it is important for this mechanism to work," Ihor Klymenok emphasized.
The event also discussed the competitiveness and export-import potential of Ukrainian fish products on the world market, the strategy of measures for the development of aquaculture in the regions - the "Aquafarming Navigator" project, the possibilities of Ukrainian aquaculture farms in the restoration of aquatic biological resources in natural reservoirs, the features of creating a salmon aquafarm according to the Danish technology in the industrial park, the state of reserves of aquatic biological resources in the Kremenchutsk and Kamian reservoirs.
At the same time, attention was focused on the need to develop and improve fish processing, marketing and branding of Ukrainian fish products, the involvement of university science in research in the field of fish farming, etc.
