📋 Tender Overview
Very soon the largest river basin of Ukraine will be covered by diagnostic monitoring of surface water massifs.During the meeting of the Pripyat River Basin Council the State Water Agency presented the draft of the first diagnostic monitoring program for the Dnipro River Basin District - the Pripyat Sub-Basin.The draft program is prepared on the basis of already performed steps for the preparation of River Basin Management Plans - identification of surface water massifs risk assessment of anthropogenic pressures formation of a register of zones territories subject to protection. The following criteria were taken into account when preparing the programtransboundary impact in the implementation of interstate agreements on cooperation in border watersmassifs of surface water which are used to meet drinking and household needs of the populationthe results of risk assessment of anthropogenic impacts namely point diffuse sources of pollution hazardous substances and hydromorphological changesprotected areas emerald network nature reservesarrays that potentially meet the reference conditions. The applied selection criteria fully meet the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive in terms of water monitoring and the Procedure for state water monitoring approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 19.09.2018 758.Among the large number of surface water massifs those that are most problematic in the river basin point impacts of Kovel Lutsk Dubno Rivne Novograd-Volynsky Sarny Poninka and Khmelnitsky NPP have been selected there is a specific and possibly resonant problem which is related to pollution Homora River and those where pollution is typical in the basin. The number of monitoring points in the Pripyat sub-basin is determined on the basis of technical and instrumental capabilities of the laboratory. And these are 35 monitoring points and 32 massifs of surface waters 3.1 coverage of massifs by diagnostic monitoring. The new studied indicators during the diagnostic monitoring will provide an opportunity to confirm or refute the identified main water and environmental problems of the Pripyat sub-basin.This is another step in the roadmap for the preparation of River Basin Management Plans to achieve good environmental status.
