With this advance, there are already 2 km of tunnel built in this branch, which will have 8 stations and will be interconnected with line 2 at the Carmen de la Legua station.A new advance has been recorded in the construction of the branch of Line 4 of the Lima and Callao Metro: the Micaela tunnelador arrived at the Bocanegra station, completing 862 meters of tunnel from its previous starting point at the Canta Callao station.
The Ministry of Transportation and Communications reports that the construction of the tunnel between the Canta Callao station and the Bocanegra station, required the use of 3549 concrete dovelas to form 507 rings, each with a weight of 40 tons. In this phase, the tunnelador managed to advance to an average of 15 meters per day.
After crossing the Bocanegra station wall, Micaela will continue its tour in the direction of the Airport Station. To date, the machinery has built 2 kilometers from the tunnel of the branch of Line 4, since it began its excavation works in the PV4-01 bis ventilation well, located in the oval 200 miles, on Av. Gambetta.
The branch of Line 4 will have eight stations, in an underground section of 8 km: Gambetta, Canta Callao, Bocanegra, Airport, El Olivar, Quilca, Morales Duarez and Carmen de la Legua, located along the Faucett Avenue, in the Callao region.
This route will significantly reduce transfer times, which will benefit millions of passengers and optimize mobility between key points in the capital. The line of line 4 will be interconnected with line 2 at Carmen de la Legua station, in Callao.
The first underground train in the country will bring the destinations of more than one million users a day, benefiting 2.5 million people along 35 kilometers (line 2 + branch line 4) and will connect with the metropolitan and line 1.
