At the beginning of the unexpected operations to defend order and road safety in the city of Chiclayo. Measure is a warning voice for drivers.In defense of order and road safety, the provincial municipality of Chiclayo, through the Transportation Deputy Management and in coordination with the Traffic Police, carried out an unexpected operation with the intervention of twenty motorcycle taxis that entered the rigid zones of the citys road ring, failing to comply with the ordinance that regulates this service. These units were placed in the municipal vehicle depot.
The intervention took place around Las Fuentes Park and at the intersections of Jose Pardo and Cuglievan streets, Balta Avenue and Cois Avenue and Luis Gonzales Avenue and Jose Pardo Street, points where municipal inspectors detected the improper circulation of smaller vehicles in a sector where their entry is prohibited.
As a result of the operation, the units were transferred to the municipal warehouse and their drivers were sanctioned in accordance with current regulations. In this regard, the Transportation Deputy Management of the municipal entity specified that these operations will continue permanently to guarantee compliance with municipal provisions and recover the principle of authority on the citys roads.
The commune recalled the validity of Municipal Ordinance No. 000003-2024-MPCH/A-S that establishes the restriction of the circulation of minor motor vehicles (motorcycle taxis and similar) within the downtown area of Chiclayo. The measure is aimed at improving traffic flow, reducing traffic congestion and strengthening the safety of pedestrians and drivers. Failure to comply with this provision generates the application of the corresponding sanctions.
The MPCh reiterates that it will maintain these inspection operations unexpectedly and in different parts of the city, with the aim of guaranteeing respect for traffic regulations and preserving order on public roads.
It specifies that the fines for entering a motorcycle taxi into a rigid zone are an amount equivalent to 276 soles, but if the offender pays the ticket within 5 days the amount is 138 soles.
