π Tender Overview
Brasilia (DF) -- The expectations of northeastern rural producers regarding the circulation of Transnordestina freight trains began to be confirmed this Monday (12), with the arrival of 946.12 tons of sorghum at the Iguatu Logistics Terminal (TLI), in Ceara, during the railways second operational test. The cargo covered the route in 16 hours and 34 minutes, departing from the Piaui Intermodal Terminal (TIPI).
Cargo left Piaui and arrived in Ceara after 16 hours of travel
The railway line operated by Transnordestina Logistica (TLSA) has been in operation since December 2025. Although the first loads transported were agricultural products, TLSAs commercial and Terminals director, Alex Trevizan, says that the concessionaire intends to vary the goods on the next experimental trips. We also intend to transport soybeans, but moving away from agricultural solid bulk, we found that there is the possibility, later this month, of transporting gypsum. Perhaps next month with limestone and agricultural gypsum, to diversify a little more towards mineral solid bulk, he states.
There is no total number of trips or fixed deadline stipulated for operational tests, as the travel time of each locomotive may vary. This period, however, is essential so that the concessionaire can carry out tests in all areas of the railways operation.
One of the main points evaluated is transshipment logistics and trailer access. According to the director, the technical analysis focuses on the agility of access and the integration between rail and road. One of the factors we analyze is the loading point and the unloading point of the products, the issue of access for the trailers so that they can maneuver and transship directly, leave the wagon and quickly fall into the truck, so that the turnaround is quick, he explains.
Operational efficiency
Trevizan highlights that the speed of this cargo transfer is what will guarantee Transnordestinas operational efficiency, allowing the wagons to quickly return to their origin for new transport cycles. Furthermore, infrastructure performance has been positive. The faster this turnover is, the better for us and the better for the customer. As the network is new, it corresponds, when operating, to our speed expectations, he concludes.
The railway section authorized by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) for cargo traffic is approximately 679 kilometers, of which 580 are currently used for commercial transport. The company already foresees other flows in the section authorized for circulation, enabling other points of origin and destination according to the merchandise and customer demand.
