π Tender Overview
Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV) said: In April, TKV continued to drastically manage production and business activities, maintaining high growth in key areas such as coal, minerals, electricity, explosives... compared to the years average. Download TKV continues to promote mechanization, apply digital transformation in mining, improve production and business efficiency. In the context of world economic and political fluctuations, especially due to tensions in the Middle East affecting global energy supply, oil prices and many industrial metals remain high, TKV still takes advantage of favorable conditions in the country to stabilize production. Favorable weather has actively supported exploitation, processing and consumption activities. Thanks to that, most production and business targets in April were completed and exceeded the plan. Ensuring fuel for coal-fired power plants. Specifically, raw coal output is expected to reach 3.3 million tons, equal to 105.4% of the monthly plan; Accumulated in 4 months reached about 12.9 million tons. Clean coal production reached 3.52 million tons; Coal consumption reached 5.18 million tons. Notably, coal output supplied for electricity reached 4.23 million tons, contributing to ensuring fuel sources for thermal power plants. The mineral sector continued to maintain stability with many products meeting and exceeding plans. Aluminum production reached about 112 thousand tons; copper ore reached 7.66 thousand tons; Copper plate reached 2.85 thousand tons. In particular, steel billet production recorded a strong increase, reaching 148.6% of the monthly plan. Electricity production activities were maintained stably under the direction of Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 18, 2026, with April output estimated at 1,045 million kWh. The fields of industrial explosives and chemical production also recorded positive results. Explosive production reached about 5,800 tons; Amon Nitrate consumption far exceeded the monthly plan, reaching 157.1%. Thanks to positive production and business results, the consolidated revenue of the entire Group in April was estimated at 17,147 billion VND, accumulated in 4 months reached more than 60 trillion VND. State budget payment in the month reached about 2,262 billion VND. In May 2026, in the context of the conflict in the Middle East still developing complicatedly, affecting the global supply chain, fuel prices remaining at a high level, along with inflationary pressure and exchange rate fluctuations, TKV expects these factors will directly impact the Groups production costs and business efficiency. At the same time, the weather in May is forecast to be sunny. Severe heat accompanied by the risk of thunderstorms and unusually heavy rains pose potential risks to production activities, especially in mining areas. Regarding the market, coal demand is expected to continue to remain high to serve electricity production in the dry season, copper plate prices are forecast to be stable, while export alumina prices continue to be low and decrease over the same period. On that basis, TKV plans to produce 3.07 million tons of raw coal, 3.24 million tons of clean coal and consume about 5.32 million tons of coal in May; Of which, coal supplied for electricity production is expected to reach 4.37 million tons. In the mineral sector, the Group plans to produce 124.5 thousand tons of alumina; 9.33 thousand tons of copper concentrate; 2.75 thousand tons of copper plates and 17.5 thousand tons of steel billets. Electricity production is expected to reach 1,056 million kWh. To complete the set goal, TKV will continue to tighten operating discipline, boost production, and ensure maximum coal supply for thermal power plants during the peak dry season. At the same time, strengthen natural disaster prevention and control, inspect key areas such as waste dumps, sedimentation lakes, and coal warehouses; ensure labor safety, protect resources and mine boundaries. In addition, continue to promote mechanization, apply digital transformation in mining, improve production and business efficiency, ensure jobs and income for workers, aiming to realize the national energy security goal according to Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW dated August 20, 2025.PTTRefer moreTKV produced more than 6 million tons of coal in the first 2 months of 2026Refer moreCompleted ahead of schedule, TKV accelerates coal mining right from the beginning of the new year.
