π Tender Overview
Oxfam has been working in Syria since 2013, distributing life-saving aid and working with local agencies and communities. Oxfam (Oxfam Intermon in Spain) has temporarily suspended its programmes across Syria due to the escalations and changes happening in the country. It is committed to restarting work to support the most vulnerable Syrians across the country once there is clarity on access and a guarantee of safety for its staff and partner organisations.
Oxfam has been working in Syria since 2013, distributing life-saving aid and working with local agencies and communities. Since 27 November, our immediate priority has been to ensure the safety of our colleagues and partners. Our team on the ground is closely monitoring the situation to assess when we can resume our work. We are engaging with the humanitarian community in the country and assessing a possible response.
Oxfam stands in solidarity with the Syrian people and is committed to addressing their immediate and long-term needs to help build a promising and inclusive future for all Syrians. The Syrian people have the right to peace and security and to be free to take advantage of opportunities to rebuild their lives and livelihoods. To do so, they need the support of the international community and donors. The population and civilian infrastructure must be protected and humanitarian organisations must be allowed to carry out their work freely and safely.
