Bern, 25.03.2025-Colonel I GST Marco Forrer, chief of staff and deputy commander of the army, will take over the management of the Air2030 program from April 1, 2025. He replaces Darko Savic, who will resign at the end of April 2025 to face new challenges in industry.
The 47-year-old colonel in the Marco Forrer general staff began his career as a professional officer in 2000 in aviation defense. He then practiced various functions in connection with air defense. Among other things, he was a boss and foundations for the rapier system in 2012 and in 2015 for the Stinger system. From 2019 to 2024 he was head of the sub -project of ground -assisted air defense of the Luftwaffe.
Since December 1, 2024, he has been chief of staff and deputy of the commander of the army. His task will be to ensure the introduction of the new f-35A and the Patriot system system together with the responsible project managers, and to continue the implementation of the project to renew the airspace monitoring and operational control system and the Radar project.
