π Tender Overview
From March 31 to April 2, 2025, the Air Force starts and ends up with F/A-18 combat aircraft at Bern Airport and operates the military flight service from Bern-Belp for three days. The army thus tests its ability to operate its aircraft from civilian locations.
Flight operations are carried out by the Kommando 13 airfield in Meiringen, which this exercise conducts as part of a repeat course. The exercise also includes starts and landings with F/A-18 fighter planes a day and evening until 10 p.m. at the latest. An increased air volume is therefore to be expected around Bern Airport. The Air Force strives to maintain any effects on civil flight operations as low as possible as possible, since today all means of the Air Force are concentrated on the three military airfields Payerne, Meiringen and Emmen.
This makes them vulnerable for far -reaching, opposing gun systems. In order to minimize this risk, the Air Force relies on decentralization as a passive air defense measure. Decentralization describes the ability to distribute the troop and the material throughout the country within a very short time. If possible, the Air Force must also be able to use its funds from decentralized, possibly temporary locations. The last time this was trained on June 5, 2024 on the occasion of the Alpha Uno exercise on the A1 in Payerne.
