The index is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental Social and Governance ESG practices. The purpose is to provide a tool to identify companies that meet globally recognized corporate sustainability standards. The FTSE4Good criteria is applied to the FTSE Developed Index Series which covers 23 developed countries and 20 emerging countries. Criteria are developed using an extensive market consultation process and are approved by an independent committee of experts.
