Technological equipment will measure the speed of vehicles at strategic points located in 12 regions of the country.With the aim of mitigating traffic accidents caused by excess speed and promoting responsible driving on the countrys roads, the Superintendency of Land Transportation of People, Cargo and Goods (Sutran), an entity attached to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), announced the programming of the sections where it will carry out electronic inspection with cinemometers during the month of July 2026.
Cinemamometers are technological equipment that allows measuring the speed of circulation of vehicles on national roads and detecting non-compliance with the maximum limits established in the National Traffic Regulations, contributing to reducing the risk of traffic accidents.
During July, controls will be carried out in 12 regions of the country. The programming of the sections is as follows:

The location of these sections responds to technical criteria related to vehicle flow, the incidence of traffic accidents and the characteristics of the road infrastructure, prioritizing those sectors where it is necessary to reinforce compliance with the maximum speed limits.
Sutran reminds drivers that respecting speed limits is essential to prevent traffic accidents and protect the lives of passengers, pedestrians and other road users. Likewise, it encourages passenger and cargo carriers to drive responsibly, respect traffic rules and verify the good mechanical condition of their vehicles before starting their trips.
