📋 Tender Overview
The town of Taller Pacifico, in the La Yarada Los Palos district, accesses mobile voice and data services for the first time as a result of the coverage fee mechanism. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) supervised the implementation of essential technological services to strengthen connectivity in the south of the country. These actions seek to guarantee that rural areas have digital tools that promote their economic and social development.
As part of this work, the Vice Minister of Communications, Raul Garcia Loli, traveled to the Tacna region to verify the operation of the 4G mobile service in the town of Taller Pacifico. This supervision made it possible to verify that the installed infrastructure operates normally, ensuring that the population has quality voice and data services.
The arrival of this technology at the Pacific Workshop was possible thanks to an antenna installed by the company America Movil Peru S.A.C., under the coverage fee model. With an investment of S/ 453,856 in this area, it directly benefits a community whose economy is based on agriculture. At the regional level, this mechanism has made it possible to serve seven locations in Tacna, reaching 1,309 users with a total investment of more than S/ 2.9 million.
The sectors commitment is to ensure that connectivity arrives and works correctly. We supervise in the field to guarantee that mobile services are active and generate more opportunities for the population, said Vice Minister Garcia Loli.
Likewise, the vice minister visited the node of the National Backbone Fiber Optic Network (RDNFO) in Tacna. This network, which extends more than 13,500 kilometers nationwide, is the backbone that connects 22 regional capitals and 180 provincial capitals, supporting the high-speed internet service necessary for the digitalization of the country.
The MTCs commitment remains firm through Pronatel, the entity in charge of keeping the Backbone Network operational and carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance work during this year. The central objective is to guarantee a stable, efficient and transparent service, reevaluating the operation schemes so that they respond effectively to the current needs of all Peruvians.
