The action is part of the special operations for year-end holidays to guarantee the operational safety of the Callao air terminal in the face of the increase in flights and passengers.The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), through the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), carried out a supervision operation at the Jorge Chavez international airport, located in Callao, to verify the operating conditions and attention to passengers due to the increase in flights typical of the high season.
For this operation, the DGAC deployed specialized Operations and Airworthiness teams, which jointly carry out inspections on aircraft and crews, both in the cabin and in the ramp area.
In order to optimize times due to the high demand for flights, the tasks were divided among more inspectors, without affecting the continuity of operations. The director of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics of the MTC, Paola Marin, pointed out that these inspections have been carried out permanently at the national level, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and that they are reinforced on festive dates and seasons of high demand.
These inspections are carried out permanently in all airports in the country with the objective of verifying that the aeronautical personnel are duly qualified and that the aircraft have their maintenance up to date and operate in optimal conditions. We have teams specialized in operations, airworthiness, air navigation, runways and licenses, because in air transport there can be no margin of error, said Paola Marin.
This action made it possible to evaluate various aspects related to airport management, such as user service, passenger flow, the operation of the facilities and the proper functioning of the services offered at the air terminal.
During the intervention, the DGAC technical team toured the main areas of the airport that fall under its jurisdiction, in order to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that operations are carried out in compliance with current aeronautical regulations and safety and service quality standards.
The supervision is carried out in a context of high demand for air transport, which makes it essential to guarantee efficient, orderly and safe service for passengers who use the airport at this time of year.
