Sunass Presents Interactive Tender

📄 Tender ID: 534457957 📅 Published: 24 Jun 2026

📋 Tender Overview

25 interventions are brought together that guide investment in natural infrastructure to protect water ecosystems, improve water availability and promote the sustainability of drinking water. The National Superintendency of Sanitation Services (Sunass) presented the interactive catalog of Merese-h interventions, aimed at provider companies (EPS) to strengthen their capacities in the identification, prioritization and implementation of mechanisms to contribute to the provision of water resources, water security and the sustainability of drinking water and sanitation.

The catalog is a practical tool created with the support of German development cooperation, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and Switzerland, through its Economic Cooperation, within the framework of the PROAGUA project.

The catalog brings together 25 interventions organized into five strategic purposes: ecosystem conservation, ecological restoration of degraded ecosystems, optimization of water recharge and groundwater availability, reduction of erosion and minimization of sedimentation, and promotion of sustainable production practices. Likewise, it provides information on expected benefits, application conditions, risks, monitoring and criteria for estimating costs.

Among the interventions included, the implementation of conservation agreements, the restoration of wetlands, reforestation with native species, the construction and maintenance of qochas, infiltration ditches and amunas, as well as the strengthening of sustainable activities in the communities located in the headwaters of the basin, stand out.

Ecosystems that guarantee more water and better quality for users
The Merese-h are financing instruments designed to protect ecosystems through the financing and implementation of conservation, recovery and sustainable use of ecosystem services actions.

Through interventions financed through the Merese-h, it is possible to improve the capacity of ecosystems that provide ecosystem services to capture, infiltrate, store and regulate water, as well as reduce soil erosion.

These benefits have an impact on the provision of sanitation services, since they contribute to having water sources protected against climate variability, favoring the continuity and sustainability of the drinking water supply for the population.

The catalog collects experiences developed in various regions of Peru and seeks to facilitate the identification of investment alternatives based on nature, the prioritization of interventions and the strengthening of EPS decision-making, thus contributing to water security and the sustainability of drinking water and sanitation services.
